As I mentioned elsewhere, Instagram doesn’t like any visible genitals, or nipples. ModelMayhem doesn’t mind nipples, but no genitals. Tumblr was always the place where anything goes.
Or, it was, until now.
From what I understand, Apple removed Tumblr from the App store for violating Apple policies, and now Tumblr is removing all adult content to get themselves back on the App store.
To some extent, who cares, right?
But the problem is, who decides the morality we must all follow? Should tech companies be the ones to dictate morality, especially when these same tech companies use tax evasion to avoid paying their taxes? Which is more antisocial, erotic images, or not paying taxes so the kids can’t go to school, hospitals can’t save the sick, etc?
For myself, I had considered using Tumblr as the outlet for my work, now I am so delighted that I didn’t. But of course, is my own website safe? The hosts have no issue with adult content now, but what will happen when the sanctimonious hypocrites decide what to go after next?
This question is at the heart of society. Our governments are happy to take money from dirty lobbyists and protect their industries, they are happy to sell the latest weaponry to awful overseas regimes, and they are happy to let the masses consume brain draining TV, and mind numbing alcohol. They are happy to break the laws themselves, whether it be speeding, bribery, corruption, drug taking, or abuse of their own privileges (such as abusing their allowances). But we must not see nudity?
We are born naked, we die naked, we make babies naked. What’s so evil about that?
